Longboard Updates

Aidan Feely, Jye Whyatt and Zac Brewer put on fine performances at the Australian Longboard Titles

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 August, 2017 - Junior longboarders got their moment to shine today as the Australian Longboard Titles recommenced in dreamy two-foot peaks at Cabarita Beach today.

Sunshine Coast surfer Aidan Feely (Moffat Beach, Qld) used a combination of power, flow and style to claim his opening heats in the Junior Longboard and Junior Logger divisions. Feely scratched into an array of lengthy righthand peaks which allowed him to perform a handful of stylish nose-rides and powerful cutbacks in each respective division. As a result, Feely cemented his spot straight into the semi-finals in both disciplines.

Jye Whyatt (Suffolk Park, NSW) also claimed dual wins over the Junior Longboard and Logger divisions. Whyatt executed an exciting array of impressive manoeuvres to post the win and book himself a spot into the semi-finals.

Queensland surfer Zac Brewer (Castaways Beach, Qld) was the final winner in the opening round of the Junior Longboard division taking out his first heat. Brewer posted a handful of modest scores which allowed him to gain the upper-hand against his opposition and bypass the upcoming repechage rounds.

The 2017 Australian Surf Festival continues tomorrow from 7:30am the more of the Australian Longboard Titles.
